Facebook to Award $200,000 to Small Businesses in Rutherford County

 The Rutherford County Emergency Small Business Assistance Fund
opens to eligible businesses on May 4  

Forest City, NC   May 01 , 2020 — Rutherford County Economic Development and Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Facebook, have announced the Rutherford County Emergency Small Business Assistance Fund to support small businesses in Rutherford County affected by COVID-19. Grants of up to $2,500 are available to provide funding for fixed operational costs. Grant applications will be accepted starting Monday, May 4 at 8:30 a.m. through Friday, May 15 at 5 p.m. The grant will not be on a first come first serve basis meaning all applications submitted during the above timeframe will be reviewed for grant award consideration.  Eligibility guidelines and a link to the application will be available during those same dates at www.facebook.com/RutherfordCoEDC

Facebook’s Forest City Data Center joined the Rutherford community when it opened in 2012 and represents a more than $750 million investment in the state of North Carolina.
