2 Atom Earth, Inc. selects Rutherford County for new location

2 Atom Earth, Inc. announced the location of a new manufacturing facility and headquarters operation in Rutherford County on April 9, 2018.  Using patented technology, mattress edge tape contains ultrapure diatomaceous earth.  When a bed bug crosses the tape, it cannot survive more than 48 hours.  This product is viewed as an environmentally friendly alternative to chemical applications for the control of bed bugs.  The facility is located at 2401 Ellenboro-Henrietta Road and site and building renovations have begun.  As a result of the favorable response for this product in the marketplace, production has been moved up from September to now begin in July of 2018.  It is expected that a minimum of 25 people will be employed by 2 Atom Earth within the next few years.  “We are very excited to have chosen Rutherford County as the home of our manufacturing operation.  Our goal is to make Rutherford County the dead bed bug capital of the world”, stated Mark Isbell, Plant Manager of 2 Atom Earth.  County Commission Chairman Bryan King stated, “This is wonderful news.  An old building that hasn’t been used for years, will be used to manufacture new products for which we hope there will be great demand.” Rutherford County Economic Development President stated, “We are very happy 2 Atom Earth has decided to invest and grow in Rutherford County.”
